In-state Lodging Policy
The maximum lodging reimbursement rate for in-state travel is currently $77 per night plus tax for all locations with the exception of high cost areas which includes Flathead County, Gallatin County, Lake County, Lewis and Clark County, Missoula County, Dawson County, Richland County and Silver Bow County. Lodging rates for high cost areas are defined in the Lodging Rates memorandum found at the top of this page under Travel Policy in Effect.
Hotel Resources - Hotel managers may require state employees to show a valid state identification card before they will honor the state rate. A charge for additional occupants who are not traveling on state business can be assessed at the discretion of the lodging facility.
