State Employee Charitable Giving Campaign
Welcome to the State Employee Charitable Giving Campaign
The State Employee Charitable Giving Campaign (SECGC) is Montana state government's official annual workplace giving initiative, offering state employees a convenient, coordinated way to support the causes they care about most. Through a single campaign each year, employees can direct their generosity to one or more eligible nonprofit organizations, choosing from a diverse roster of participating charities that serve communities across Montana and beyond.
SECGC is designed to make charitable giving flexible and accessible for every state employee, regardless of budget or preferred giving style. This range of options ensures that every employee can find a giving method that fits their personal circumstances and financial preferences.
Since 1990, Montana state employees have donated over $11.2 million to nonprofits in the state.

About the Montana State Employee Charitable Giving Campaign (SECGC)
For 35 years, the Montana State Employee Charitable Giving Campaign (SECGC) has shown what’s possible when public service meets public generosity.
Started in 1990, SECGC gives Montana state employees a simple, trusted way to support the causes they care about. Through payroll deduction, credit or debit card, or one-time cash or check, it’s easy to make a lasting difference.
Since it began, SECGC has raised more than $11.5 million for nonprofits that serve Montanans across every corner of the state. In 2024 alone, employees gave over $364,000. These dollars help put food on tables, keep kids safe, support families in crisis, and protect the natural beauty we all cherish.
Powered by the People Who Serve
SECGC is more than just a donation form. It’s a movement. A reflection of how deeply Montana’s state employees care about their communities. Whether you give $5 or $50 per paycheck, it adds up—because every dollar makes a difference.
Studies show that each dollar given through SECGC creates a $3 economic impact. That means employee contributions have generated over $33.6 million in benefits for Montana communities. That’s not theory. That’s real meals, real warmth, real hope—made possible by you.
Whether you’re just getting started or have been part of this campaign for years, your generosity matters. You’re not just giving—you’re lifting people up.
Nonprofits: This Is Your Chance to Join In
Each year, nonprofits have the opportunity to apply for inclusion in the SECGC campaign. This is your chance to connect with thousands of dedicated state employees who want to give back to their communities.
For many nonprofits, SECGC isn’t just helpful—it’s essential. It brings steady, reliable support that keeps programs running and services strong. Whether you focus on youth, health, environment, housing, veterans, or food security, there’s a place for you here.
If your organization serves Montana and wants to reach new supporters, we encourage you to apply. The process is simple, the exposure is meaningful, and the results can be transformational.
We’re Stronger When We Give Together
SECGC proves that small actions, when done together, lead to big change. Every donation is a step toward a stronger, more caring Montana.
When state employees give, they do more than support a cause. They build a better future. And with over $11.5 million raised and counting, that future is looking bright.
Let’s keep it going. Let’s keep Montana strong—together.
