The Statewide Accounting Bureau strives to maintain excellence in financial reporting as well as timely and accurate disbursement of funds to the citizens of the State of Montana. We maintain a statewide structure and related policies and procedures to allow all branches of government to meet their reporting needs and assist all state agencies in the operations of the state accounting system.

The Local Government Services Bureau
The Local Government Services Bureau (LGSB) works with local governments (counties, cities & towns, school districts, and special purpose districts) to ensure uniform financial accountability and to assist the local governments in complying with their statutory financial and budgetary reporting requirements, including provisions of the Montana Single Audit Act and the Local Government Budget Act.
LGSB can provide technical assistance and training to local government accounting and financial personnel in the areas of accounting, budgeting, and financial reporting. In addition, LGSB collaborates with local governments and independent CPA firms to ensure that financial and compliance audits meet statutory requirements and professional standards.

The SABHRS Financial Services Technology Bureau is committed to the pursuit of innovation and the delivery of reliable, effective, financial service applications enabling a diverse user community to achieve their goals.
The State Social Security Administrator (SSSA) is dedicated to assisting Montana's public employers by serving as a communication bridge between the United States Social Security Administration (SSA) and the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) and local government employers in regards to Social Security and Medicare coverage programs.
