Policy Proposals
The State Human Resources Division (State HR), Department of Administration, proposes substantial changes to the Meal Allowances section of the Travel Policy. The proposed changes only apply to Meal Allowances. The remaining sections of the Travel Policy remain unchanged.
Substantive changes to Meal Allowances include:
- Added night-shift meal hours as authorized by HB 769.
- Established a time frame for night-shift.
- Night-shift hours apply when a majority of an employee’s work hours are between 7:00 p.m. and 6:00 a.m.
- Clarified meal allowance examples.
- Updated for grammar and clarity.
