Welcome to State Enterprise Learning and Development
The State of Montana is committed to supporting the professional growth of all state employees through a variety of learning opportunities. These programs help employees strengthen their skills, expand their knowledge, and better serve the people of Montana. Training may include leadership development, technical skills, communication and customer service, workplace wellness, and compliance courses. New offerings are added regularly, so employees are encouraged to check back often for updated options and schedules.

Earn Continuing Education Units (CEUs) through Montana State University Continuing Education courses, conferences, and workshops. CEUs meet professional development requirements for professionals in careers such as engineering, child care, medicine, counseling and finance.
Office of Public Instruction (OPI) Renewal Units
Earn Office of Public Instruction (OPI) Renewal Units through Montana State University Continuing Education courses, conferences, and workshops. OPI accepts the units as part of the re-certification requirements for practicing teachers.

What: Training sessions by experts in the field
Where/When: August 2025 at the University of Montana
The Department of Public Administration and Policy offers a series of training and professional development opportunities, including our annual Public Service Academy through one and half days on the University of Montana’s campus. Additionally, we serve as the host site for the Certified Public Managers Program to assist mid-to upper-level public sector managers use real-life issues and create solutions through a year-long cohort-based learning model. Our department also offers on-demand training for your professional development needs. Contact the MPA Director for more information.
